By this point, I think you guys know I will try to work maple syrup into just about any recipe I can. But I didn’t even know it would have this shockingly delicious ooey-gooey effect on my favorite skillet brownies turned blondies.

From the moment you break open the crust {especially if you’re like me and you don’t want to let it wait and set} and get that first spoonfull of delicious gooey goodness, you smell the maple, you smell the toasted pecans, and life is just good.

I’ve made this recipe a few times, experimenting with just how done I want it to get, but each time I tweaked it, I decided I didn’t want fully finished cakey blondies. I wanted it a little more on the cake-batter side. So that’s what you get here. A deliciously gooey dessert perfect for a gathering.

Or cut the recipe down by 1/3 and use a small omelet skillet and enjoy it yourself.

Doesn’t that look innocent? Just wait until you dig in!

Drop a couple scoops of ice cream on the top and share with friends, or serve in a bowl with a spoon – and more ice cream.

If you don’t eat it all in one sitting {everything in moderation here}, you can get that gooey goodness back by putting a scoop in a bowl and zapping it in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds. Add a scoop of ice cream and enjoy!

I know, I’m serious about the ice cream. It’s awesome with this.
