Top 10 Recipes for 2021

Hey there, friends, and happy New Year! I’m still working on catching up and photographing recipes I’ve been playing with the past few months and I’m really excited to share some brand new fun with you for 2022!

But to close out 2021, I want to highlight your top favorite recipes for the year, the ones that racked up all the good traffic and comments and photo shares and all the stuff we absolutely LOVE around here. Not so we can sing our praises around here for creating some really yummy recipes {but no lie, that’s why I’m here, so…} but so we can get a gauge on what you all really like to cook and what you want from this site!

So let’s take a look at the recipes on The Home Front that you loved most around here!

10. Roast Turkey Breast with Honey Glaze and Roasted Veggies

This one is a favorite of ours any time of the year – it’s delicious and easy to present elegantly and always makes you feel like you’ve come to a celebratory holiday meal, no matter when you decide to serve it.

9. Sweet Strawberry Mimosas

You all fell for these romantic sweeties in a big way. Swish up a little fruit puree with your juice and your prosecco for an extra sweet treat – and garnish for fun!

8. Poisoned Apple Cocktail

You all definitely took a shine to this Halloween-themed treat. A great cocktail combined with a little bit of edible luster dust is perfect for all of your Halloween celebrations – and this one can work just as well for New Year’s, too!

7. Gorgonzola Stuffed Mushrooms

I’m excited that an appetizer made the main list, because we really love these babies around here. I made these stuffed with Gorgonzola and veggies, but they’re also really, really good if you introduce some crab into the mix!

6. Chicken Apple Brie Panini Sandwich

This one was inspired by my favorite sandwich place in grad school. When you need some delicious and luxurious comfort in the winter months, listen for this upgraded grilled cheese delight to call your name.

5. Pesto Shrimp Pasta with Burrata

You put burrata on anything and it’s basically my favorite, but add these beautiful buttery shrimp and some good angel hair pasta and it’s absolute heaven.

4. Baked Crispy Chicken Sandwiches

Because seriously, y’all, who has time to wait in line for all the other versions of this? Make your own. It’s way better.

3. Mai Tai Punch

Anyone need a tropical escape for the weekend – or at least a moment of sipping? We do. This one is more juice and less rum so you get a refreshing sip that doesn’t knock you on your butt, but adjust your potions accordingly!

2. Mahi Mahi Street Tacos

I love that you’re all loving the street taco! Seriously, no frying, just fresh, and a whole lot of delicious homemade avocado slaw. There’s everything to love about these bad boys!

1. Homemade Crab Ravioli

Homemade Old Bay Crab Ravioli

And the winner for 2021, folks, these homemade crab ravioli, loaded up with butter and Old Bay. I didn’t expect you all to love these as much as you do, given that they were such a random experiment of mine, but I love them and I’m totally excited that you do, too!

Yeah, I was hoping I would see a pattern in these, but it’s a difficult one to tease out. The fun thing for me is that all the recipes you all seem to like the most aren’t ones I’ve made with heavy inspiration from blogs or cookbooks – they’re the random experiments, the ideas I was playing with, the ones that were mostly just fun for me.

We can get behind that, and we’re looking forward to creating more content like this over the course of 2022!
