Over the last few years, I’ve been on a number of adventures around the world that have opened my eyes and inspired me to think in different ways. A lot of these adventures have inspired valuable lessons that have stuck with me, and others have inspired recipes as well! That gave me the idea to start a new series, which I’m calling “Food Exploring.” Once a month, I’ll dust off one of these adventures and share what lessons and recipes that particular adventure inspired! This month we’re revisiting Norway!
We saw breathtaking beauty all throughout Norway, but there’s something about the craggy peaks next to the deep fjords around Alesund and heading south to Geiranger that really spoke to both of us.
Despite the wicked cold up on deck, we bundled up and came out to enjoy the sight of the mountains and trees as much as we could!
Here are some of our favorite snapshots from the fjords around Alesund and Geiranger, Norway.
Norway is so tremendous and rugged. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before, and yet I feel absolutely comfortable there.
Maybe it’s my ancestry speaking to me. Something in my blood that feels comfort in the familiar. But it’s an amazing feeling to be looking around at a place and to feel like you just…belong.
Visiting here made me start to realize that we don’t always travel to escape from home, but sometimes that’s what we’re looking for in the first place.
